Canada and China Sign Historic Bilateral WTO Agreement
Canada and China have reached an
agreement on a wide range of market access issues related to China s
entry into the World Trade Organization (WTO). Mr. Pettigrew signed the
agreement today (Nov. 26, 1999 ) in Toronto with Chinese Minister of
Foreign Trade and Economic Co-operation Shi Guangsheng. Clik

Welcome Mr. Rober Story to CCBA board
The CCBA Calgary Chapter welcomes a new
board member, Mr. Robert Story. Next to have worked in
Africa for many years, Mr. Story has been invloved in several CIDA
Urban Environmental Planning Projects in China.
The CCBA is to hold a Joint Function with Jacques
Whitford Environment Ltd.
A Xinjiang Delegation will attend.
(Calgary) Special guests to the banquet will be Senior Leaders from
the Tarim Basin in Chinaís Northwestern province, Xinjiang.
Jacques Whitford Environment Ltd. provides technical and management
assistance to the petroleum industry and the provincial government
water resources agency to facilitate the environmental sustainability
of the desert region where agricultural production and petroleum
development are important to Chinaís growth.
Also present will be the Minister of Economic
Development, the Honourable Pat Nelson.

The CCBA Calgary Chapter welcomes a new board member, Ms. Marlene
Law of the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. SAIT is
presently working with CIDA support in SE China to train over 100
Chinese trainers and workers in the application of industrial
coatings. Ms. Law functions as the Project Coordinator and
travels to China regularly. The CCBA is excited about the skills
and experience Ms. Law brings to the Board
